Coquitlam is the largest of the Tri-Cities, alongside Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. The Millennium Line’s Evergreen Extension, which opened in 2016, connected the city centre to SkyTrain and drove a wave of higher-density development around Coquitlam Centre and Burquitlam, while neighbourhoods like Burke Mountain continue to grow on the city’s northern edge.
The city also has deep roots. Maillardville, founded by French-Canadian mill workers in the early 1900s, remains a historic francophone community within Coquitlam. Douglas College’s David Lam campus serves students from across the Tri-Cities.
All that growth means steady demand for home services, renovations, property management, childcare, health and personal services — businesses that run on bookings, quotes and phone calls. Their technology problems are concrete: inquiries arriving faster than they can be answered, schedules managed in several places, and websites that no longer reflect what the business offers.
